I'm off quite shortly to go some way up north with MTL and four out of our five combined children to go camping over Memorial Weekend.
I anticipate many adventures involving beginner's attempts to use a dutch oven, small children eating campfire S'mores, and lashes of sand in various crevices.
The kidlets have been in a tizzy of excitement for days. We are going on a Camp Out! DramaBoy tells everyone he sees, and you can hear the capital letters in his voice. The Widget, in turn, was quite devastated to discover he would have to attend school today before heading out on the adventure.
I'm not quite sure how he'll feel about the four hour (with traffic) car journey that lies ahead before we reach the Promised Land.
So until Tuesday, I'll be out of touch, out of reach, and (quite possibly) out of my mind.
Have a lovely weekend, all of you!

8 bits of love:
Have fun!! Can you believe we have yet to go camping with the kids. It will happen this summer. We've promised. It sounds like so much work!! (whine, whine, whine)(And hopefully Arby doesn't see me whining about camping seeing as how he takes his children camping in minus 200 degrees fahrenheit.)
Have fun! Your Memorial Day Weekend sounds better than mine! I will be sleeping as much as possible to get over this 3-week cold before vacation next week. And cleaning the house before the dog- and (fake)kid-sitter moves in.

Hope you are having a great time!
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
That's brave. Never attempted the camping with children thing myself, unless you count the back yard camp outs. Can't wait to hear how it went! Have a great time --
Remember the time I took you camping at the Gangette in Burkina Faso? Your inner tube tipped over playing in the river and I will never forget the look you had as you stared up at me under water as you were floating away. I was only 2 feet away and got ahold of you in a second or two, but in my mind it seemed an hour.
May things not be quite so exciting on your weekend.
oooh I LOVE camping with the kiddos. Couldn't get away this weekend so we put the tent up in the yard. We'll call that the lame-os guide to sleeping out of doors. Hope you had a blast!
LOVE ME SOME CAMPING! Mostly for the Slim Jims, but also for the Smores- i just took my girl scout troop camping last weekend and a mom brought Reese's Peanut Butter Cups to put in the Smores, and it was a whole new Smore world!!!
Thanks for coming by today and for your kind comment!
xoxo
